Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Edson Castillo has gained interest in North Africa, and insiders privy to information discuss what the next step could be for the Venezuela international.
Soccer Laduma has previously reported how Chiefs had placed a high price tag on Castillo for any club that wants to make an official offer.

With Egyptian giants Zamalek reportedly showing interest in the Amakhosi midfielder, Siya sources have indicated that Chiefs are taking the first step to keep the player for the long term. If he does get sold, it can only be at the desired price.
Soccer Laduma had previously noted a price tag of R40 million for Castillo, but that can change as his contract runs down, so Chiefs will be looking to extend his deal.
Sources close to the club have stated that Chiefs are set to trigger Castillo's one-year option, with this extra year taking his contract to June 2027.
"It's a fact Zamalek FC are interested in Castillo and the team will make sure they keep him and that's why they have activated the one-year option and added yet another year to it," said the Siya source.
"His initial contract was ending in June 2025 but now it will run until June 2027. So that will give them enough negotiating powers when a team wants him. It's good for the team as he will be on the price they want," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source stated that the appointment of a new Chiefs coach at the end of the season is a major factor in any negotiations.
"As much as Zamalek are interested in him it could take time as they are waiting for the new Chiefs coach to look at all the players before making a decision. So for now every player is still safe and still belongs to the team until a new coach is in place. So it's the same with Edson (Castillo). But the interest is there for now," the source observed.
The Venezuelan started the season on a high but with the team performing poorly recently, we also have not seen the best of Castillo.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for a comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
