News from Naturena indicates Kaizer Chiefs may release one of their strikers, even if no suitors come forward during the upcoming January transfer window, according to insiders privy to information.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the club had considered loaning or selling DRC striker Christian Saile, given interest from certain PSL clubs. However, the situation has now changed.

Siya sources close to Amakhosi have indicated the club is now prepared to release him outright if necessary.
The insiders added that both the technical team and management have aligned on the decision that they may have to release Saile as that could be a course of action under current circumstances.
"They have tried to give him a chance and be patient with him but they are not getting the returns they expected from him. Yes, it's true there have been clubs who have shown interest in him but things are not coming together. And the team is looking to get another striker and a winger, the two positions which Saile can play. The plan is now to release him and create that space for players to come in," the insider stated.
Though, there is still time to go before the January transfer window opens to attract interested clubs. Additionally, a second insider highlighted financial considerations, noting that the club is mindful of their salary bill.
"They have looked at all angles including how much the club is spending already and if they are to bring in more players while there are players who are not really playing or performing it will balloon the salary bill and they are avoiding that. So letting Saile go is one way of cutting on the costs at the club hence even the loan deal could be out but releasing him seems to be the right solution," the second source stated.
This season, 25-year-old Saile has played a few games without scoring, compared to last season when he participated in most matches while scoring rarely.
Saile joined Amakhosi in January 2023 from Zambian side Nchanga Rangers, and his contract runs until June 2026.
