With the 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship season officially starting next weekend, the Siya crew can reveal that another former Kaizer Chiefs player has put pen to paper with Casric Stars.
Given Thibedi, for a second time, will link up with the Johannesburg-based side, Soccer Laduma understands. The 25-year-old joined the second-tier side from Moroka Swallows towards the end of the previous campaign, going on to make five appearances for them, as well as featured prominently in their relegation/promotion play-offs.
However, at the time, the player's agent revealed that it would be unlikely for 'Manando' to stay, as there had been no indication from the club that they were keen on holding onto him.
Siya sources in the know have now informed this publication that Thibedi has signed with Casric, although the length of his contract was yet to be revealed. The skilful player began his career at Amakhosi and was promoted to the first team in 2018/19, before he was loaned out to the Dube Birds, notably helping the team gain promotion to the DStv Premiership.
