A second insider stated that with one year left on Mayele's contract, Pyramids are eager to cash in on a deal rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires in June 2026.
"His contract is running out in June 2026 and this could be the best time for Pyramids to make some money out of the deal before he becomes a free agent. We can't say how much they are looking at now but last time it was believed that they turned down around R15 million from Chiefs but since he will be entering his last year of the contract they could reconsider that and also remember they are already looking at his replacement which means they are ready to let him go," the second source revealed to the Siya crew.
Since joining Pyramids FC, the 30-year-old Mayele has been a key performer and reliable goalscorer.
All signs point toward a significant move in the upcoming transfer window as Chiefs pursue Mayele and other reinforcements to strengthen their attacking options.
