Agent Mike Makaab has denied that Mamelodi Sundowns could be set to release Zimbabwean defender Divine Lunga in January.
Despite insiders indicating Lunga could be on his way out next year, Makaab firmly refuted the possibility.

"It's not true. That's not true (that Lunga will leave the Brazilians in January)," Makaab told Soccer Laduma.
However, insiders close to the club have indicated that if Sundowns cannot find a loan move for Lunga, then he may be released in January.
The club has already parted ways with several players, including Gaston Sirino, Bongani Zungu, Sammy Seabi, Abubeker Nasir, and Brian Onyango.
The sources added that with other left-backs like Bafana Bafana's Aubrey Modiba, Terrence Mashego, and 19-year-old Asekho Tiwani, it is believed that it could be tricky for Lunga to find game time.
From this perspective, it may be the best solution for the player to be loaned.
"His contract is set to come to an end in June 2025 so if they let him go in January or on loan, then it could also mean he is leaving Sundowns at the end of the season. That's what they are working at," said the Siya source close to the club.
"As for Lunga it's believed that he club's main aim is to give him a chance to go and play where he can as there is tough competition in his position with the technical team preferring Asekho Tiwani and Aubrey Modiba ahead of Terrence Mashego and Lunga himself. So they feel that letting him go would he the best solution for both the player and the club," the source added.
A second source close to Sundowns discussed the player's situation in terms of how his position in the Zimbabwe national team could be affected.

"He is afraid he may not go to Afcon 2025 in Morocco if Zimbabwe qualifies because he is not playing. He was not part of the national team and that could affect his final selection for the AFCON squad next year and that's why he wants to find a team where he can go and play. That's why the club is also looking at either loaning him out in January for the remainder of the season or to release him. It will all depend from January until the end of his contract in June," the second source stated.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
