Before the Pirates match, Sekhukhune had managed just one win from their opening eight matches, making the Buccaneers odds on favourites going into Tuesday's encounter.
However, having stolen a point from reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns earlier I the season, Babina Noko have shown that they could hold their own against their more fancied opponents.
With the game seemingly headed for a goalless draw Tembo's substitutions in Elias Mokwana and Vusumusi Ncube proved telling as they managed to find the back of the net to subject Pirates to their third defeat of the season.
"Look, I think it was a well deserved three points, we started very well in terms of possession. We got into good areas, and we did what we wanted to do in terms of turning their defence. We wanted them to defend on the side and we had some good chances in the second half as well," Tembo told the media after the game. "When we got to one man down we slowed down the pace a little bit but when we made the changes we energized the team and the changes made a huge difference into the team. Ut well deserved three points.""We put this game behind us now and look forward to Friday's game," he concluded.Read: From Regular To Sub: Bucs Star Man Reacts To New RoleNext up for Tembo is an emotional reunion with his former side SuperSport United at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. You must be Sign In to read and post comments.
