Cardoso spent seven years on the books of Amakhosi having joined them from Free State Stars in 2015.
The defender was released by Chiefs at the end of the 2021/22 season and was quickly snapped up by Babina Noko to add much-needed experience to their defence.
Now, for the first time since joining the club, Cardoso and his Sekhukhune United side are set to face Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, and the 33-year-old knows exactly what to expect when he returns to his old stomping ground.
"It's a big game, a big team and as I said before when I spoke about pirates, when you come up against chiefs, pirates, sometimes the motivation is already there, you don't need to get the extra motivation. I think players are hungry players want to prove points younger players are looking for contracts, so it's going to be an exciting game," he told the media.
"I do believe it's the 53rd birthday and the tickets have gone down to R30 so you can expect a very decent crowd there and I think most of the players haven't played under the massive crowd, so that's another extra bit of motivation, so going into the game."
"I think the mood's good They didn't play midweek, so they've had a bit more time to rest So it's also a bit of a factor But I think the energy the boys' passion will be in there and they know what's at stake I mean, we, we are lying towards the bottom of the table and we have to come out that slum if we can even get a point away, it would be a good result for us But I think three points would be much better and take us away from that bottom s that that's happening at the bottom"
Kick off for the match is at 20:00.
