South Africa's Tyroane Sandows Could Make History

South Africa's Tyroane Sandows Could Make History

Sandows was a second-half substitute as his side were hit by a heavy 5-1 defeat to Santa Cruz late last month, with games – including the Copa do Brasil final – having been postponed since then following the tragic events that led to the death of practically the whole Chapecoense squad.

Now, with the Brazilian league looking to get back up and running again, Gremio will be seeking to build on their 3-1 first-leg win over Atletico Mineiro and win the tournament for a record fifth time.

It remains to be seen whether "Ty" will make it into Renato Gaucho's starting XI for the game – which starts at 01h45 SA time – but he is expected to at least be on the bench as his side go in search of victory.
