Saudi outfit Al Kholood Club recently announced the arrival of Dieng.
The Malian star was in a similar predicament to Tau at the Egyptian club where he was deemed surplus to requirements, despite being one of the club's standout stars.
Like Tau, Dieng also occupied a foreign spot at the club that had been earmarked for one of their incoming players.
Now, it appears that Tau could potentially be joining Dieng in Saudi if the club do get their way.

According to multiple reports in Egypt, talks between Al Ahly and Al Kholood are at an advanced stage for the 30-year-old South African attacker.
There is interest in Tau's services from Wydad Athletic too, though at this point it is understood that Al Kholood are slightly ahead of their Moroccan counterparts in the chase for the 'Lion of Judah'.
It appears that Tau's time at Al Ahly is drawing to a close with the player having fallen out with coach Marcel Kohler. He was also left out of Al Ahly's last four league games.
