However, the 24-year-old ended up in a maximum prison in Georgia where he served an 18-month sentence for allegedly stealing a cellphone (more details on this in the latest Soccer Laduma – edition 1362).
Now, the former AmaZulu FC midfielder's agent Sipho Joyisi has revealed plans to get the player back into playing competitive football.
"The boy is doing fine, and we just have to get him mentally strong again before anything. He has been put into a strong training program for him to get back into full fitness as that will be important in getting him a club. He is training as I am talking to you, and we don't want him to be rushed into playing competitive football. There is a team that showed interest in him after he came out (of prison) but we turned them down for the reasons I am a telling you about," said Joyisi.

"I am targeting June at least for him to get a club. The boy is working hard in training and I have no doubt that he will regain fitness to be ready for a fresh start in June. There is no need to rush after everything that happened to him, and we've got to be sure that he is ready mentally and physically before finding him a club. He is a good boy, very humble and he is intelligent and there is no doubt that he will bounce back," he said.
