It was a good night at the office for Percy Tau on Thursday as he caused problems for Vincent Kompany on the way to a 2-0 victory for Club Brugge in the Belgian Cup.
Tau was handed a starting berth once again by Philippe Clement for Brugge's quarter-final clash against fellow Belgian giants, Anderlecht, and was a handful for the opposition defence for 79 minutes as he played his part in helping them to victory.
The win in the Croky Cup set up a semi-final against Zulte-Waragem in the new year, with the two clubs going head-to-head over two legs as they aim for a spot in the final of the competition in March.
While Tau's side face Waragem twice at the end of January, KV Kortrijk and Royal Antwerp will battle it out for the other place in the finale as all four clubs eye the chance to adding a trophy to their cabinet early into the new decade.
The Bafana Bafana international will be hoping to put to be last year's cup disappointment as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise reached the same stage before being beaten by KV Mechelen, although now he's playing for a team who is favourite to go all the way in the competition.
Next up for 'the Lion of Judah' and his teammates is a clash with KAA Gent on Sunday as they seek to extend their lead at the top of the Belgian Pro League, before bringing their 2019 to a close next Thursday in a league game against their Croky Cup semi-final opponents.
