In May 2023, Soccer Laduma sat sown with Mosimane's wife and agent Moira Tlhagale and she alluded to how she goes about negotiating a salary for the serial-winning coach.
"I think one of the key things that I've found is to ensure that we all come out with an understanding that our coaches need to get exactly the same as the European coaches with context, right?
"I won't say if he has to go and coach in any African country, he must get what [Jose] Mourinho is getting, right? But it has to be sort of balanced in terms of what Africa pays.
"I do a lot of research in terms of what other coaches have been paid in South Africa and now another South African comes, or even outside what they want to pay," she said.
In his FIFA case against his former employers Al Ahli, Mosimane's salary was revealed, with the coach taking home a mammoth £110 095 (±R2.7 million) monthly salary, which is equivalent to £1.3m (±R31m) a year.
While Mosimane's salary in a South African context far exceeds the R10m – R15m bracket known to be the salary of local coaches, he does pocket significantly less than his counterparts at the world's best clubs.
