While he's facing a one-game suspension in Ligue 1, French rules mean that Bafana Bafana's Bongani Zungu can face Paris Saint-Germain and Neymar this evening in the French capital.
The South African midfielder was on the scoresheet for Amiens on Wednesday night as they sent Rennes packing in the Coupe de la Ligue with a 3-2 win that sent them into the quarterfinals, but he was later booked by the referee.
According to the Ligue 1 rulebook, a player who picks up three yellow cards in the space of 10 games will face an automatic one-game ban, however unlike in South Africa it doesn't necessarily mean that he misses the next game.
Zungu's third booking in seven games means that he will have to miss Amiens' game in the next round of fixtures, but because the league's disciplinary committee meet midweek, and only after that meeting will the suspensions be verified.
It's because of this that the Bafana star will get the chance to take on the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Co. at the Parc des Princes this evening because the game falls into the same round of fixtures as the win over Rennes.
He will, however, miss the game against Rennes in the Coupe de France next month as a new round gets underway when they play their first game of the new year.
