Two Bafana Bafana internationals were in the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-final draw in France last night, with Bongani Zungu and Lebo Mothiba both hoping for glory in 2020.
Zungu's Amiens and Mothiba's Strasbourg were both in action on Wednesday evening as they knocked out Rennes and Nantes respectively to book their place in the last eight, with the draw for the quarters taking place not too long afterwards.
After scoring in their Round of 16 win, Zungu and his teammates have now been pitted against high-flying Lille for a place in the semifinals, while 'Lebotelli' will go up against Stade de Reims as Strasbourg eye a spot in the last four once again.
The games will take place on either January 7 or 8 next year when both players will be eager to play a role in the games – while will both be played away from home – with an eye on the semis and a potential encounter with Paris Saint-Germain or Olympique Lyonnais.
While the cup will only continue in 2020, things are far from over for this decade for the South African contingent in France, with Zungu facing PSG on Saturday as Mothiba plays Saint-Etienne.
