After their convincing 4-0 thumping of Lesotho, South Africa's U20s are now just two games away from retaining the COSAFA U20 Championship – and now know their opponents.
Helman Mkhalele's side will face a familiar opponent tomorrow afternoon after topping Group B with seven points and a goal difference of +9, with the South Africans now pitted against Madagascar for a spot in the final against either Zambia or Angola.
Amajita are no stranger to the Madagascan side having already faced them in the group stages of the tournament, playing out a 1-1 draw last week on the way to qualifying for the knockout stages.
South Africa are looking to win the COSAFA U20 Championship for a ninth time this year, something that would put them one short of Zambia's record of 10 victories, and are eager to retain the trophy that they won in the same country this time last year.
Mkhalele will be looking to his top scorer, Sinenjongo Mkiva of Bidvest Wits (with three goals), and playmaker, SuperSport United's Oswin Appollis (who has two goals), to be the inspiration for victory on Thursday afternoon, but he will know that it won't be an easy test against a Malagasy side that is also unbeaten in Zambia this year.
South Africa's U20s face Madagascar at 12h00 tomorrow at Nkoloma Stadium.
