On the past weekend, the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) league kicked off with almost all the 16 teams facing off against each other, except for TS Galaxy against Royal AM because the KZN-based side didn't have a full squad on the day.
Royal AM had only eight players available, so the game could not be played. Sources close to the club and privy to information have indicated that the club could not register players due to various reasons.

Insiders went on to discuss the reasons of how Royal AM found themselves in this situation.
"You see there are a few factors but the main ones are two or three. Some players no longer qualify to play for the DDC team. While the others have left to join other KZN teams, and above all the team is still affected by the FIFA ban. I really don't know how it works but I think it also goes down to the DDC team because they have to register any player they sign and since they are under a FIFA ban then they can't sign and register such players," said the Siya source.

"That is believed to have affected the team in their game against TS Galaxy. They had only eight players available for that game and according to the PSL rules, as well the rules of the DDC, then that game could not be played. What we are not sure of is whether the points were awarded to TS Galaxy or the game will be played at a later date but they can't make a team and I don't think the problem will be solved soon," the source added.
Soccer Laduma contacted Royal AM General Manager Richard Makhoba, who didn't want to reveal nor comment much on the issue at hand as he stated they are still talking to the PSL.
