Royal AM have been banned by FIFA from registering new players due to their unsettled financial dispute with former striker Samir Nurkovic, and this has negatively affected the team.
However, head coach John Maduka sees a silver lining in the ban, as it has given young players a chance to play. Talking to Soccer Laduma on the sidelines of the Betway Premiership Launch in Sandton, Maduka stated that this is an opportunity for the young players to shine and prove themselves.

"We find ourselves in a very unfortunate situation but that is how football is. You have to make the best out of every situation you find yourself in. And this situation has given the young players the chance to come out and shine. They have to prove themselves that they can carry the team on their shoulders. It is a blessing in disguise. The only thing is that we have to be patient with them as they grow in the game. But there is nothing more we can do than work with what we have at the moment until everything will be back to normal again," Maduka said.
However, the Malawian-born mentor lamented that they can't have a good striker, a midfielder, or at least a defender to solidify the team and compete in the PSL.

"As much as we have the young players we need that striker who can finish off the chances that we create and score goals to win games for the team. We also need a solid midfielder who can stabilise the midfield and help both in defence and attack, but above all, a defender with experience to control the backline and keep things solid at the back. But as I have said, we are looking at the positives that we have in the team and work with that for now," the former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder observed.
