Since the launch of the new league sponsors Betway, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has not disclosed what the league-winning prize money will be.
However, sources close to the teams and the PSL itself have indicated what the new proposed prize money could be.

Insiders believe that the new winners of the Betway Premiership are set to walk away with R20 million, which is R5 million more than the DStv Premiership prize, last won by Mamelodi Sundowns.
The sources added that the new prize money will be endorsed at the PSL Executive General Assembly, expected to convene in early November.
Other incentives, like the monthly grants, will probably not change, but the PSL is looking at more innovations to improve the league.
"So far, what we know is that the prize money for the Betway Premiership league winners will walk away with R20 million. At the moment we can say it's a proposal as the Exco meeting in November will finalise the details if that is indeed the amount but that's what we know now. Obviously it's a great improvement of R5m from the DStv Premiership winner as it was R15m. But all the details are believed to be given to the clubs in the Exco meeting. But at the moment we believe it's R20m," the Siya source stated.
A second source stated that there will be other innovations regarding where the additional money will go, but this is also subject to Exco discussions and approval from the clubs.

"Apart from the prize money, nothing much has changed because most of the monthly grants come from the TV broadcasting rights and that hasn't gone so hence the monthly grants for now still remain the same R2.5m," said the second insider.
"But they are planning and working on other innovations which teams will only be informed about and discuss this during the PSL Exco in November," the second source stated.
Soccer Laduma contacted the PSL for comment, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story.
The PSL General Assembly, where they are also set to elect the new chairman and board members, is scheduled for November 13. As the PSL prepares for its General Assembly, the potential increase in prize money to R20 million for the Betway Premiership winners would mark a significant development. The clubs will be eagerly awaiting the final decision and any additional innovations that may be introduced to enhance the league.
