If Orlando Pirates want to raise their hand as one of the clubs that should be considered candidates to win the CAF Champions League, then victory over the most successful club in the competition would send out the right statement.
Their victory over CR Belouizdad away from home was impressive, but there's no bigger statement than beating a club that currently holds the honour of being African champions.

Pirates host the Red Devils at Orlando and this should bring back some memories for the Bucs faithful, from the 2013 edition. On their way to the final 11 years ago, the Buccaneers collected four points from Ahly in the group stage, drawing at home and winning away.
A man who was part of that team, Sifiso Myeni, talks to Soccer laduma about the memory.
"For Pirates to beat Al Ahly, Pirates are in good form, but as the competition goes on it then becomes very tough. Continental and local football are not the same, so they will be up against it. But I believe they will play well and make sure they get a result, as long as they keep doing what they have been doing and make sure they don't take the game lightly," Myeni said to the Siya crew.

"In terms of experience, Al Ahly has been there and have done it before. They know that coming to Orlando, where Pirates are doing well, is going to be difficult for them. But I believe with this Pirates squad, they can do it. Pirates got a win away from home in their first group match, so that could give them a bit of confidence. The most important thing is to get three points at home. The coach has been good and has made sure the team plays well. When we were there, they had the likes of (Mohamed) Aboutrika, but the team has changed and they are still a threat."
Ahly are third in the Egyptian Premier League after four matches this season, registering two victories and drawing two.
