With Mokete Mogaila nearing the end of his contract with Royal AM, the player's name is being mentioned along those linked with Orlando Pirates once again.
For almost one-and-a-half seasons, Mogaila has been playing for Thwihli Thwahla, having joined the club from TS Galaxy in January last year, and has been doing well.
The winger has been one of the consistent players for the KwaZulu- Natal outfit, having amassed 33 appearances in all competitions with two goals and three assists in the current campaign.
He had been linked with the Soweto giants from as far as back as when he emerged as one of the promising talents from Varsity Football some five years ago while playing for the University of Johannesburg.
However, the player went on to sign his professional contract with Highlands Park in 2018 and was one of the players who switched to TS Galaxy when the club's top-flight status was sold to current owner Tim Sukazi in 2020.
Having penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with Royal AM, Mogaila will see his deal with the club expire at the end of next season and indications are that the club would be willing to cash in on him before the time.
Bucs, who are known to be admirers of the winger, are believed to have been impressed with his progress over the years, with insiders hinting that the club could be given the greenlight in his pursuit.
"Orlando Pirates are keeping tabs on Mokete Mogaila. The player is left with one year on his contract with Royal AM. Pirates have to talk to Royal AM regarding the player's services," said a source.
