Relebohile Ratomo is only just breaking into the Orlando Pirates first team, but could be lost to local football altogether with European interest in his services mounting.
The 18-year-old has been part of the Buccaneers' first team 18-man squad for the last two matchday squads, although he did not emerge from the bench as the side registered 2-0 wins against both Richards Bay FC and Chippa United.
His promotion comes as a result of his fine performances in the club's DStv Diski Challenge side, where he has been a shining light in coach Joseph Makhanya's talent-laden outfit.
Ratomo has managed an impressive nine goals and 13 assists in 20 matches this season. He walked away with five Man of the Match awards in that period.
Siya sources in the know have informed Soccer Laduma that the young sharpshooter's performances have managed to garner European interest.
According to a well-placed source, an unnamed English team has expressed an interest in the School of Excellence product.
"Not many players manage to catch the eyes in England, but there has been interest in his services. It is up to Pirates if they want to explore the option," the source said.
Ratomo was signed by Bucs after an outstanding performance in the Engen Knockout Challenge, alongside his teammates Jabu Mokone, who also joined the Houghton-based side, while Onele Rulwana and Siyabonga Mabena linked up with Mamelodi Sundowns.
