High-Flying Pirates Out To Regain Top Spot

High-Flying Pirates Out To Regain Top Spot

Orlando Pirates will be out to regain their top spot in the Betway Premiership standings and title chase when they return to the Orlando Stadium this afternoon in front of their supporters.

The Buccaneers will be home to welcome Stellenbosch FC in what could be a tricky fixture due to the Cape Winelands' outfit knack for rising to the occasion against the so-called big teams in the League to cause an upset.

With Mamelodi Sundowns having won their match last night against Sekhukhune United, the defending champions have taken Bucs' number one spot on the standings though the two sides are tied on 21 points each.

But Pirates go into the match this afternoon with a game in hand over Downs, which could put them back in the lead in the title chase should they get favourable results.

Ezimnyama are oozing with confidence following their impressive 2-1 victory away to Algeria's CR Belouizdad on Tuesday night in the CAF Champions League group stages opener and will be aiming to maintain their form in the League.
