Pirates, this season, gave supporters an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look into their pre-season preparations under the club's new coach Jose Riveiro in a two-part documentary called, Bucs Camp on SuperSport.
In there, both players and staff were candidly honest, opening up on a number of issues both on and off the field.
But perhaps the most telling part came from assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, who gave his first impression of his new technical team, revealing that the coaches were blown away by Lorch's ability in their first few days at the club.
"One thing I liked from the new coaches, I was always curious on how they would see the team in the first two or three days but one thing that I liked, they said the technical ability of our players is at a European standard," Ncikazi said speaking on Bucs Camp.
"Lorch, they asked why is he still playing here. He should be playing somewhere in LaLiga. They even mentioned teams like Alavez, Valencia and for me, that was encouraging because sometimes we think so low of ourselves and our players – but when somebody from outside, especially Spain, sees our players in those eyes, for me it's encouraging," he said.
