In just two years, Jose Riveiro has been racking up the trophies at Orlando Pirates - five to be exact - but it has come at the cost of a valuable personal sacrifice for the Spanish coach.
When interacting with the Spaniard for the first time, you immediately pick up on someone who is self-assured, collected and calculated. Someone who listens intently and speaks at the right time and speaks only when necessary.
In terms of his work, a consummate professional, dedicated and hard-working, with the ability to express the most nuanced of concepts with relative ease. He does possess a lot of wit, which sporadically shows its head during press conferences and TV interviews.
These reasons, and more, have seen Riveiro endear himself not only to Pirates supporters - but to the club's players as well. Even those who perhaps did not receive the game time they thought they deserved.
His nature as a person and coach has yielded significant success at Pirates.

Since joining the club in 2022, Riveiro has won three MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cups. Statistically, he is also Pirates' second most successful coach.
But all the triumphs and victories have come at a heavy cost for the 49-year-old.
Pirates' media department detailed how the Spaniard has sacrificed two years without seeing his wife and his daughter, owing to his exploits in South Africa. It is also the reason why his trusted steeds in Miguel Bellver and Sergio Almenara have returned to Europe - to be with their families.
It is for this reason that Pirates have allowed Riveiro to momentarily return to his native Spain during the recent FIFA break to spend time with his family before returning to a full-on assault of the Betway Premiership as well as the CAF Champions League.
