In a fitting tribute to a former teammate, an Orlando Pirates star has lauded Sandile Mthethwa for his immediate impact at his new club AmaZulu.
Following his lack of regular game time at Pirates, Mthethwa secured his release from the Soweto giants in December and has since joined AmaZulu to revive his career.

As Usuthu booked their place in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 on Tuesday evening, the defender scored three goals and was one of the top performers for the KwaZulu-Natal giants in his first start in the 5-1 win over third tier outfit Mighty Eagles.
Mthethwa's former teammate and Pirates vice-captain Tapelo Xoki has lauded the Empangeni-born player for his high work-rate.
"It's always great to see some of your former teammates that you shared a changeroom with doing well. For him (Mthethwa) scoring a hat-trick in his first start for AmaZulu, which is my previous club (by the way), I was happy for him. I hope that he continues the good form that he is in. He has shown that he has got huge potential. We always knew his quality and it's just unfortunate that he never got enough game time when he was with us, and hopefully he will now get that with AmaZulu," said Xoki, speaking during the Nedbank Cup Last 16 draw held in Randburg on Wednesday.

Xoki, who recently returned to the matchday squads at Bucs and has been getting some minutes on the field after his long injury layoff, has also commended winger Katlego Otladisa for his contribution at Sekhukhune United where he is on a loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
"We are also happy that Otladisa also did well the other day at Sekhukhune. It's always great to see some of your teammates doing well because we share the changeroom," concluded Xoki.
