Great names spring to mind when thinking about Pirates goalkeepers in years gone by.
The likes of William Okpara, Avril Phali, Francis Chansa Senzo Meyiwa (R.I.P) and Moeneeb Josephs are amongst those who gained cult status for their exploits between the sticks.
However, there have also been those transfers that have not particularly worked out the way they would have hoped.

Felipe Ovono and Frenchman Joris Delle two such examples.
Pirates, according to reports are closing in on the signing of TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, who is set to provide stern competition to the likes of Siyabonga Mpontshane, Richard Ofori and Sipho Chaine, who has made the Pirates number one jersey his own this season.
Chaine was signed in September from Chippa United as a back-up for Ofori, who has battled with injury; however, the 25-year-old has since become coach Jose Riveiro's first-choice and has featured in 18 matches for the Buccaneers, keeping five clean sheets in the process.
Buthelezi in 19 matches for the Rockets this season, has managed nine clean sheets in the DStv Premiership, conceding 13 goals.
Should Pirates complete the signing of the lanky star, it will be interesting to see to the competition between what is a very strong goalkeeping department.
