Result: Chippa United 2-1 Richards Bay

Venue: Sisa Dukashe Stadium
Chippa United booked a spot in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals following a 2-1 win over Richards Bay FC on Saturday afternoon.
Chippa brought in Anthony Laffor and Peter Maloisane from their midweek loss to AmaZulu. On the other hand, Paseka Sekese skippered the visitors.
Laffor rewarded the technical team five minutes from the start when he ran onto a back pass in the centre of the area to scoop over the advancing goalkeeper Ludwe Mpakumpaku.
Richards Bay looked for a comeback a few minutes later through a cross-cum shot from the right-side by Reggy Zondi, but defender Nyiko Mobbie pulled off a big clearance.
The match began to fizzle into an evenly-balanced affair with little in the way of clear-cut chances, though Richards saw a lot of forays towards the halftime break.
However, Chippa got a big chance to go ahead at the break from a loose ball in the area after Richards failed to clear their lines but Maloisane Mokhele fluffed.
Richards were presented two promising free-kicks minutes inside the restart, but neither Franklin Ogbonna nor Sekese made goalkeeper Ayanda Mtshali work with both efforts off target.
Chippa went two goals up on 58 minutes when Mokhele ran into the centre of the area to send a cutback from Augustine Kwem into the bottom-corner.
The Chilli Boys head coach Dan Malesela made a double substitution two minutes later in Athini Jodwana for Mokhele and withdrew Mobbie in place of Gregory Damons.
Richards Bay set up a nervy finish in stoppage time after Siyabonga Vilane headed home at the back-post following a free-kick, but it was too little too late as Chippa advanced to the semi-finals.
