Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Cuthbert Malajila, believes that his side will be ready for the game against Platinum Stars on the weekend.
The Brazilians face Dikwena in an MTN8 game at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, August 2.
"After such a lengthy period of no serious footballing action, I can tell you now that all the players are itching for our first match of the season especially against a team like Platinum Stars.
"You must also understand that this has been one of those tricky encounters for us and opening a season against them is a start straight from the blocks and we want to make it matter.
"I wonder though if people will still talk about them (Stars) being the hoodoo team because we convincingly beat them last season. It will be an interesting affair though as both teams will go all out for a win.
"Sometimes a test like this on the first day of the season is what a team needs to kick right into gear and get the season rolling.
"One of the interesting things though for us as Mamelodi Sundowns is the fact we have signed well in the transfer market which makes it difficult to predict us," Malajila told sundownsfc.co.za.
