Rampant Baroka Climb To Second Spot

Baroka 4-1 NB La Masia

Baroka climbed up to second spot on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table after a resounding 4-1 win over NB La Masia on Sunday afternoon at Global Stadium.

NB La Masia went ahead midway into the first stanza but Kagiso Selemela levelled matters three minutes from the break and Sekela Sithole gave the hosts the lead just after the hour-mark.

Kabelo Kgositsile gave Dan Malesela's charges a two-goal cushion with 18 minutes to go and Khomotjo Lekoloane buried the game two minutes before time.

Bakgaga moved up to second on the table, two points behind leaders Orbit College while Daine Klate's men dropped down to 12th on the log with 14 points.

Magesi FC 2-2 Casric Stars

Magesi extended their unbeaten run to five matches after a 2-2 draw against Casric Stars on Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Wonderboy Makhubu broke the deadlock for Magesi 11 minutes before the break but Thulane Mbonani levelled matters for Casric six minutes before the interval.

Sangweni put the visitors head just before the hour-mark but Stars conceded an own goal in stoppage time, as the sides shared the spoils.

Dikwena dropped down to third on the table, three points behind log-leaders Orbit College while Casric fell down to ninth with 17 points.

University of Pretoria 2-0 Venda Football Academy

University of Pretoria won back-to-back matches after beating Venda Football Academy 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

Delano Abrahams opened the scoring for AmaTuks within ten minutes from the start and Samuel Julies secured the three points with the second goal 15 minutes before time.

The Tshwane side moved up to sixth on the table with 20 points while Venda dropped down to 13th with 12 points.

Saturday, 25 November

Maritzburg United 1-3 Pretoria Callies

Maritzburg United lost their fourth game of the season after going down 3-1 against Pretoria Callies on Saturday evening at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Joslin Kamatuka gave Maritzburg the lead within the first five minutes but Callies levelled matters with 20 minutes on the clock and the visitors took the lead on the half-hour mark.

The Romans settled the contest midway into the second stanza.

The Team of Choice fell down to seventh on the log with 19 points and Callies moved off the bottom of the table, up to 15th and a point from safety.

Platinum City Rovers 1-1 Upington City

Upington City extended their unbeaten run to eight matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Platinum City Rovers on Saturday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Carl Lark opened the scoring for Upington midway into the first stanza but City Rovers salvaged a point with the equaliser in stoppage time.

City Rovers remained in 14th spot on the table, above the relegation zone on goal difference and Bafana Ba Gucci settled for eighth spot on the log with 18 points.

Black Leopards 3-2 Marumo Gallants

Black Leopards won their third game in five matches after edging Marumo Gallants in a five-goal thriller in the Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Leopards went to the break 1-0 up and with one man advantage after Saziso Magawana was red-carded for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa.

Sibusiso Sikhosana levelled matters for the visitors 11 minutes into the second stanza.

Lidoda Duvha restored their lead with 15 minutes to go but Monde Mphambaniso equalised for Gallants three minutes before time.

However, Leopards found the winner in the dying minutes.

The win took Lidoda Duvha up to tenth on the table with 17 points while Gallants dropped down to 11th with 15 points.

Friday, 24 November

Orbit College 2-1 JDR Stars

Orbit College bounced back from two consecutive defeats after edging JDR Stars 2-1 on Friday afternoon at Olympia Park Stadium.

Orbit broke the deadlock midway into the first stanza and David Lukhele levelled matters for the Hammerboys two minutes later.

The North West-based side had a quick response, as they restored their lead just before the half-hour mark.

Orbit extended their lead at the top of the standings to two points and JDR dropped down to fourth on the table, four points off the top.

Hungry Lions 1-1 Milford

Hungry Lions lost further ground in the promotion chasing pack after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Milford on Friday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Ronaldo Van Neel eventually broke the deadlock for Lions on the hour-mark.

However, Bongani Mthabela equalised for Milford with four minutes remaining.

Ditau Dia Rora find themselves lying fifth on the log with 20 points while the Stallions dropped down to the bottom of the table, two points from safety.
