Malesela's Baroka Win Again, Maritzburg Sink Orbit

Milford 3-3 JDR Stars

JDR Stars missed the chance to go top of the log after a draw against Milford in a six-goal thriller on Sunday afternoon at Chatsworth Stadium.

Prince Nxumalo broke the deadlock for the Hammerboys just before the half-hour mark but Menzi Chili levelled matters for the Stallions ten minutes into the second stanza.

Mvelo Zikakayo quickly put the hosts ahead two minutes later but Elias Mocheko equalised for the Tshwane side with 25 minutes remaining.

Chili put Milford ahead and got his brace 15 minutes before time. However, Nxumalo fired the equaliser for JDR in the last minute and also completed his brace.

The Hammerboys moved up to second on the log, just two points behind leaders Orbit College while Milford dropped down to 15th on the table, two points from safety.

Pretoria Callies 0-0 NB La Masia

Pretoria Callies remain the only side without a win in the league after playing to a goalless draw against NB La Masia on Sunday afternoon at TUT Stadium.

Callies also remained at the bottom of the table with eight points, three points from safety while Daine Klate's charges were left lying tenth on the log with 13 points.

Saturday, 04 November

Maritzburg United 3-1 Orbit College

Maritzburg United won for the first time in four matches after thrashing Orbit College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Reagan Van Der Ross opened the scoring for Maritzburg on 19 minutes and Joslin Kamatuka doubled their lead early in the second stanza.

The Team of Choice put the game to bed with 25 minutes remaining while Orbit got a consolation goal in the last quarter of an hour.

Maritzburg moved up to fourth on the log, four points behind Orbit, whose lead at the top of the table was reduced to just two points.

Baroka 2-0 Hungry Lions

In-form Baroka won their fourth game in five matches after beating Hungry Lions 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Global Stadium.

Following a goalless first stanza, Lehlohonolo Nonyane broke the deadlock for Dan Malesela's charges on 67 minutes and Bakgaga sealed the three points with six minutes remaining.

The Limpopo side, however, had to settle for sixth spot on the log, five points off the top of the table while Lions dropped down to third, three points behind table-toppers Orbit College.

Venda Football Academy 2-0 Magesi

Venda Football Academy got back to winning ways after beating Magesi 2-0 in the Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at Malamulele Stadium.

The sides went to the break deadlocked before former Kaizer Chiefs striker Edmore Chirambadare got the breakthrough for Venda just before the hour-mark.

Babatunde Adepoju secured the three points for VFA 11 minutes before time.

Dikwena moved up to fifth in the standings with 18 points while VFA dropped down to 13th on the log with 11 points.

Casric Stars 1-1 Upington City

Casric Stars extended their unbeaten run to three matches after playing to a 1-1 draw against Upington City on Saturday afternoon at Giyani Stadium.

Ngoanamello Rammala opened the scoring for Casric in the first 13 minutes but Maravela equalised for Upington early in the second stanza.

Stars finished the game with ten-man after Masixole Nkewana got a second yellow card and was sent off in the last minute.

Casric and Upington occupied seventh and eighth spot on the table respectively and still separated by a point.

Marumo Gallants 0-0 University of Pretoria

Marumo Gallants went five matches without a win after they were held to a goalless draw by University of Pretoria on Saturday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

AmaTuks found themselves lying ninth on the log with 14 points while Bahlabane Ba Ntwa fell down to 12th on the table with 12 points.

Friday, 03 November

Platinum City Rovers 1-0 Black Leopards

Black Leopards' two-game winning run came to an end after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Platinum City Rovers on Friday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Simphiwe Dlamini broke the deadlock for City Rovers on the stroke of half-time and that was enough to hand them their first victory in five matches.

City Rovers moved out of the relegation zone by a point, up to 14th on the log while Lidoda Duvha fell down to 11th with 13 points.
