Teams: Highlands Park v Black Leopards
Date: 05 January 2020
Venue: Makhulong Stadium
Newly-appointed Black Leopards coach Cavin Johnson will be hoping to hit the ground running with a trip to Highlands Park in the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Following the resignation of Belgian coach Luc Eymael in December last year, Leopards moved swiftly to appoint former AmaZulu coach Johnson as his successor three days later.
Eymael's last match in charge was a 3-1 loss to Orlando Pirates on 21 December and Johnson will be tasked with steadying the ship as Lidoda Duvha are currently 12th, just two points above the relegation play-off spot.
On the other hand, the Lions of the North will be hoping for a better start in the new year after a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows in the last match before the festive break ended a six-match winless run.
Owen Da Gama's troops are currently placed seventh on the table with 20 points from 15 matches.
The last three league meetings between the sides have all ended in draws.
