Teams: AmaZulu and Maritzburg United
Date: 01 December 2019
Venue: King Zwelithini Stadium.
AmaZulu and Maritzburg United will renew their provincial rivalry when the two clash in Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon at King Zwelithini Stadium.
Jozef Vukusic has had a positive impact at Usuthu since replacing Cavin Johnson in September but they suffered a set-back with back-to-back losses to Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns in the league.
That showed the amount of work that still needs to be done, as AmaZulu are left languishing second-from-bottom, although a win over their local rivals will see them move out of the drop zone.
Meanwhile, the Team of Choice were unable to replicate their Telkom Knockout form in the league, as their 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals last Sunday was followed up by a 2-0 defeat to SuperSport United in the league on Wednesday.
The defeat to Matsatsantsa extended Maritzburg's winless run in the Absa Premiership to three matches, leaving the side in 11th position.
In their meetings last term, the sides played to a goalless draw in the first round clash before Maritzburg won the return match 2-1 at home.
The match is scheduled to start at 15h30.
