Gallants To Honour Celtic Founders

Marumo Gallants, under the leadership of club president Abram Sello, will on Sunday, 20th October, honour the founders of Bloemfontein Celtic in an event to be held at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Media officer Sello Nduna told Soccer Laduma that all five people who have owned Celtic before will be honoured on Sunday.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Siya crew, Nduna said the late Norman Mathobisa and Victor Mahatanya, who founded Celtic in 1969, will be the first to be honoured, followed by the late Action Plaatjies, who took over the team before selling it to the late Dr Petrus Molemela, who finally sold the team to Jimmy Augusto.

"Sunday, the 20th October will be a great day in the history of both Bloemfontein Celtic and Marumo Gallants. The club will be honouring all the forefathers of the legendary club Celtic. We will start the process at 8:00 am on the morning when we will be visiting the graveyard for the late forefathers like Norman Mathobisa, Action Plaatjies and Dr Petrus Molemela. We will lay flowers there to honour them with the families of all the forefathers. Then at 10:00 am we will go to the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium where we will continue honouring them with families, friends and supporters. It will be a great day and all thanks to the vision of President Abram Sello," Nduna told Soccer Laduma.

Meanwhile, Nduna informed Soccer Laduma that they are working on having the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium ready for their PSL games.

"For us the stadium is ready. We are planning to have our first home game at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on the 20th of October when we take on TS Galaxy. All we see waiting for is the approval from the Premier League but everything is in place and this honouring of our forefathers comes at the right time when the stadium is ready for action. We are happy to see games return to Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium," Nduna concluded.

The event will be a significant moment for both Marumo Gallants and the historic Bloemfontein Celtic, as they honour the founders who have played a crucial role in the history of the club. The tribute, led by Sello, highlights the importance of remembering and celebrating the legacy of those who have contributed to the club's success.
