Former Marumo Gallants head coach Dylan Kerr has come out guns blazing as he set the record straight on his unceremonious exit from the club months before the start of the 2024/25 season.
Gallants, who had purchased the top flight status of beleaguered Moroka Swallows, called a press conference in Sandton to announce Kerr's return to the helm.
However, a few weeks later and Kerr announced his departure from the club, stating interference from management and the appointment of a co-coach without his consent as a reason for his departure.

Now, Kerr has shed more light on the situation with the new campaign just weeks away from kicking off.
"Six weeks ago I made a choice to come back to South Africa and the Premier League PSL to coach sorry be Head Coach of my former club Marumo Gallants who had bought the status of my old team Swallows FC (whilst waiting for my USA Work Permit) to be issued," Kerr wrote on LinkedIn.
"Unfortunately after 4 weeks the interference the agendas of other people including the man in the white shirt, my appointed technical team who I had NO input in I walked away to preserve my professional ethics and INTEGRITY that I uphold to the strongest values I've had since turning Pro-at 16.
"It was an emotional month working 24/7 to bring in the quality we needed to be told that I won't be involved in signing of any players (yes this is a PSL team) have amateur coaching staff who have NOT DONE ANYTHING question how my team works, how I work and how I wanted my staff to work ALL to the highest standards that I set myself was never being followed to the detriment of the players.
"In the other 2 times I've worked for my chairman he was supportive and NEVER got involved yet unlike getting the backing of ALL the technical team staff any idiot could see I was being set up to fail. I should have walked away when the club decided to replace MY assistant with whom I'd won Nedbank Cup and saved their status at TTM something I regret for both of us and I'm glad he's now been appointed NFD coach at Lerumu United.
"I leave with my head held high my reputation intact and at its best and again you always learn, take away and grow with these extreme challenges. My respect as always been earned through my love of the game but it has to come both ways and that was never shown as by the chairman's actions and working in Africa now for 8 teams as always had its challenges it's high lows the good and the bad but I cannot ever go against my Values and principles taught to me by all my former managers, coaches players and supporters."
