With the season nearing towards the end, two Mamelodi Sundowns players who have recently been confirmed as injured are facing an uncertain period.
Sundowns are closing in on a sixth consecutive Premiership title and are still in contention for the CAF Champions League, but Lesedi Kapinga and Gift Motupa might not feel they have contributed enough on the pitch to the team's success, for different reasons.

Recently head coach Rulani Mokwena confirmed that both players were out with injuries, making it even more difficult for them in terms of the their futures at the club. Both players are currently in their third season and Sundowns are believed to have an option to extend their deals when the three year contracts lapse at the end of June.
But with injuries and a lack of game-time affecting their progress, chances are they might not be at Chloorkop when the 2023/24 campaign gets underway. Kapinga, in particular, was linked with an exit towards the end of the January transfer window and the Siya crew understands that the player is open to leaving Chloorkop for a chance at getting regular on-field minutes under his belt.
After leaving Black Leopards in 2020 with the hope of taking his playing career to the next level, Kapinga has not been able to make as much progress in terms of playing time at Chloorkop. While he has medals to show off, the skllful midfielder has spent a lot of that time watching Sundowns' matches from the bench or the stands.
This season alone, Kapinga has made just six appearances, five of which were from the bench. The only match he has started was the Nedbank Cup last 32 clash against Richards Bay. The Siya crew understands that the player could be in the final few months of his time at Sundowns, with either a loan move or permanent exit on the cards.

Motupa, meanwhile, has been affected by a toe injury recently as he was trying to work his way back into the team. Also in his third season at Chloorkop, the midfielder will wait to hear if the club will exercise the option in his contract.
