It's been a challenging few months for Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Abubeker Nasir as he continues to wait for what will happen next in his career.
According to information received by the Siya crew, the Ethiopian international remains on the mend, with confirmation that he will not feature at all for the club this season, having been deregistered due to the arrival of Argentine forward Matias Esquivel.
Nasir has struggled with injury, and it's believed that this has left Sundowns giving though to whether or not he will continue with the club beyond the end of this season, considering that it's career threatening.
It's understood that discussions are set to be held over the future of the player who was once tracked by Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and a final decision will be made before the end of the campaign on what happens next in his career.
Nasir made a promising start to life at Sundowns but has been affected by an injury he picked up in a clash against Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in 2022. Since then, he has not been able to feature consistently for the Tshwane giants, going in and out of the side due to the knock returning now and again.
This season, the 24-year-old has made just three appearances in all competitions for the DStv Premiership champions.
