With 113 strikes to his name for Mamelodi Sundowns and Highlands Park where he first showed his promise, the Namibian hitman is just 10 strikes behind 'Bhele's' record of 123, which he set between 1997 and 2018.
Given Shalulile's goalscoring prowess, equalling – and even surpassing - Nomvethe's record is an achievable feat.
However, he has gone through a recent slump in front of goal as his last league goal came in December last year in a 3-0 win over Cape Town Spurs.
The good news for the 30-year-old is that his slumps hardly last for long and he recently found himself back among the goals in the CAF Champions League as his solitary strike from the penalty spot against TP Mazembe saw Sundowns claim top spot in Group A with a 1-0 win.
Sundowns do have a congested schedule in the DStv Premiership, Nedbank Cup and the CAF Champions League ahead and they will need their top marksman to regain his form that has seen him claim the PSL Golden Boot for two seasons in a row.
