Free State Stars boss Rantsi Mokoena has confirmed to the Siya crew that the club has completed a deal with Mamelodi Sundowns for right back Nyiko Mobbie.
Shortly after the Bethlehem side were relegated to the National First Division at the end of the 2018/19 season, Stars embarked on a restructuring process – cutting ties with coach Nikola Kavazovic, his technical team and nearly the entire squad.

Only Mobbie and a handful of players remained, with Mokoena informing the crew then that the club would look to sell them on.
"We have been talking to a few clubs about some of our players and Sundowns showed a keen interest in Mobbie," said Mokoena.
"And yes we have concluded a deal for the player and he will be joining them for next season. He has been a great servant for our club over the years and had become an important player for us. But unfortunately, we couldn't keep everyone. We have gone through a restructuring process to prepare for life in the NFD and it was in Mobbie's best interest to continue to grow his career elsewhere."

Stars have also sold Harris Tchilimbou to Bloemfontein Celtic and Sibusiso Hlubi to Polokwane City.
Mobbie, 24, will compete with Thapelo Morena and veteran Anele Ngcongca for the right back position as he looks to impress coach Pitso Mosimane.
