Khuliso Mudau showed Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi exactly what he was missing out on as he made an emphatic return to the Brazilians' matchday squad.
The 29-year-old was left out of Sundowns' last four matchday squads and had to make do with a place in the stands as the Chloorkop outfit racked up wins against Mbabane Swallows, SuperSport United and Marumo Gallants respectively.
It would take just 16 minutes for the Bafana Bafana international to show his ability after coming on as a second-half substitute in place of Asekho Tiwani.
In the time he came on, Mudau registered 15 touches in total which included a shot on goal - but it was defensively where his prowess showed. Mudau managed two ball recoveries, two blocks and two interceptions as he helped his side see out a tricky win.
His second half showing would not go unnoticed as his coach heaped praise on the defender after the match.
"It was nice to have Mudau back," Mngqithi told journalists.

"Like I said, even before that they [including Teboho Mokoena] are still going to come back and help us a lot.
"And I think today [Saturday] was the right time to bring him in. And he did very well. He proved the quality that he has, no doubt, defensively he is one of the best players you can ever have.
"In one against one, I think he is in a class of his own and it was pleasing to see him perform the way he has performed today and I was very happy," he said.
Sundowns are next in action in just under a months' time as they face Polokwane City on 27 October at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
