Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to make a decision on the future of one of the defenders on their books, while Chippa United is said to be watching the situation closely.
Since joining Sundowns from Free State Stars in 2019, Nyiko Mobbie failed to break into the matchday squads at the Brazilians and has yet to prove his worth at the club.
After spending the 2019/20 season at Stellenbosch FC on loan, the right-back was loaned to Chippa United in December where he continued to make progress this past season, having amassed 20 league starts although the team strugged at the bottom of the log throughout the campaign.
Alhough yet to be officially confirmed by the club, Mobbie is unlikely to form part of Downs' squad for the 2021/22 season according to sources, with the indications that he could be sent on loan again for the third time.
Depending on whether they will manage to retain their top-flight status through the play-offs, the Chilli Boys are believed to be keen on taking the 26-year-old on another loan deal.
