Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to be keen on holding onto one of their youth products for a longer period.
Siya sources at the Brazilians have indicated that the club and midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise have most probably been discussing a contract extension.

As reported before by the Siya crew the team and the Pietermaritzburg born midfielder were involved in talks because his initial contract is coming to an end in June this year.
Sources told the Siya crew that the 27-year-old Bafana Bafana star have probably agreed on a new two-year contract.
"The talks had been going on for a while now but there was no doubt about him staying at the team or the team wanting to keep him longer," said the Siya source.
"He is the club's product and they didn't want him to be just one of the wasted talents and that's why the new two-year deal is an improved one from the previous contract. You should remember that he was promoted from the junior ranks and that is different from a player who had been bought from another team.
"But now with his experience, both at club level and national team level, he deserves better. Mind you that the coach (Rulani Mokwena) is also a big admirer of the player and that contributed to him getting a new improved deal. He has a lot to give to the team going forward," the source said.

Despite injuries during the just-ended season, Mkhulise played 18 DStv Premiership games, scoring one goal while in the CAF Champions League he featured 10 times with a goal to his name and played once each in the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup.
He first joined the Brazilians in 2018, signing a five-year contract which is ending on 30 June 2023. When contacted, Sundowns didn't comment on the story.
