When he looks back at his decision to leave Mamelodi Sundowns a few years ago, SuperSport United defender Keegan Allan feels it was the right decision.
Allan was at Sundowns in their junior ranks and featured for the Multichoice Diski Challenge (now DSTV Diski Challenge) side before deciding to make a move to University of Pretoria back in 2021.

He turned down an opportunity to play for the first team and made a move to AmaTuks and he has been making an upward trajectory since then, moving to Moroka Swallows before signing a deal with SuperSport during the January transfer window two months ago.
"Looking back at my time at Sundowns, I loved my time there. It was enjoyable. I feel that things have taken a step in the right direction, from Sundowns, to Tuks, to Swallows and then this opportunity at SuperSport now. I can say it was the right decision. So far, I'd say it's gone well. I have only good things to say about the clubs I've been to previously," Allan said to the Siya crew.
The move to SuperSport came at a time when there was turmoil at Swallows, with players downing tools to fight for money owed to them, while there were those who were axed by the club during that period. Allan was snapped up by SuperSport, adding the 22-year-old to their youthful side.
"I would not say it came out of nowhere. Obviously you have your own team, in terms of agents, who are working behind the scenes. As soon as the opportunity came, I jumped at it. It was so exciting. Just to be under coach Gavin is a privilege," he said.

"I take it day by day. Coach Gavin has produced some of the best centre backs in the country. I just want to improve and take in every bit of advice he gives me. I am learning from Siyanda (Xulu) and Ty (Thulani Hlatshwayo). I am enjoying being here. The goal is always to get into the national team setup."
