According to Siya sources, both the player and the club are already engaged in negotiations over a new deal.
"They started the talks early because you know the club has a busy schedule so they want to give the player and his representatives enough time to look at the new deal and see if it's tangible for all the parties involved," the source said.
"Actually, it's a one-year offer with another one-year option. So that means he can still have a playing contract until June 2026. After that anything can happen as you know the club likes rewarding its loyal servants with jobs at the club. Whether it's with the main team or in the development or even ambassador work, but for now, the talks are around the new contract."
Sundowns also have Reyaad Pieterse on the books while fellow goalkeepers Jody February and Ricardo Goss were loaned out to AmaZulu and SuperSport United respectively this season.
The Ugandan shot-stopper joined Sundowns from Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2011 but had a loan spell at Bidvest Wits in 2013, before returning to the Brazilians where he became their number one and helped the club win a numerou league titles and the CAF Champions League.
