The Brazilians have had a busy month of domestic action, building a 15-point lead in the league while also advancing in the Nedbank Cup.
Sundowns were in action on Friday after needing extra-time to overcome Sekhukhune United to book their spot in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
Brazilians coach Miguel Cardoso has been quite open about his side's schedule and not allowing South African teams to rest before continental clashes.
Nevertheless, Cardoso will come up against his former side Esperance, who finished top of Group D after four wins from six matches.
The two sides met in the semi-finals of this competition last season, with Cardoso guiding Esperance to a 2-0 aggregate win, which included a 1-0 win at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
