All eyes turn to the DDC in Tsakane this weekend as the DStv Premiership takes an AFCON-enforced break.
Naturally, talk is around Kaizer Chiefs, who towards the end of last year, suspended – and parted ways – with a number of players, who according to reports, refused to be ball boys as per the club's rules.
Now, ahead of their clash against Chippa United, Khumalo says their focus is on closing the gap between themselves and Mamelodi Sundowns, as the off-field matters have been resolved.
"We implemented some disciplinary measures regarding the situation but now we are over that. It is part of the boys' learning curve. Everything is okay now, we are all together, focused on the football and having a good second half of the season," he told the club's official website.
"The boys are all excited and looking forward to getting back up and running. Everyone is here; even the boys that were missing late last year are back and we can't wait for our first game. We have had a long camp programme where we assess how the boys will fare for the rest of the season, so we are well prepared to give it our best shot," he added.
Chiefs find themselves in fifth place on the log standings, though a win over 10th placed Chippa United, could take them to within four points of leaders Sundowns.
