Phathutshedzo Nange will bring to an end a two-year stay at the Glamour Boys, the club has confirmed via their social media channels.
Chiefs opted against exercising the option on the 31-year-old's contract upon it's expiry.
"Chiefs Release Nange. Phathutshedzo Nange has been released by the Club on the expiry of his contract. The 31-year-old signed for Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in July 2021. Nange played a total of 31 games and scored two goals in all competitions. Good luck. All the best!" the club tweeted.
Nange was signed from Stellenbosch FC back in 2021.
The likely destination for the lanky midfielder at this stage is SuperSport United, where he could reunite with Gavin Hunt, under whom he featured for Bidvest Wits.
Club CEO Stan Matthews confirmed the club were interested in the player, although he would have to take a pay cut to make the deal happen, while a lot depended on whether or not he was a free agent.
Nange was used sparingly by Arthur Zwane in the 2022/23 season, making just five appearances in all competitions. He follows the likes of Siyabonga Ngezana and Eric Mathoho, who have already parted ways with Amakhosi.
