Kaizer Chiefs' head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, has firmly stated that bringing in a new striker will not be the sole solution to the club's ongoing struggles in front of goal.
With his first official transfer window now in full swing, Nabi's comments have drawn attention after Chiefs' disappointing 1-0 loss to Cape Town City at the DHL Stadium on Sunday evening, a defeat that highlighted the club's continued problems in the attacking third.
Despite scoring 14 goals over the course of 11 games, Chiefs have had a tough time finding the back of the net, with strikers Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley Du Preez contributing just four of those goals between them—two each.
This lack of attacking production has fuelled speculation that a new striker may be the missing piece needed to resolve the team's scoring woes.
However, Nabi was quick to address this line of thinking, emphasizing that the issue extends beyond the striker position.
"We don't feel that the striker can resolve all the issues that we have been having in the final third," Nabi remarked after the match.

The Tunisian coach explained that while a striker might contribute to goalscoring opportunities, the entire team needs to improve in various areas for sustained success in attack. For Nabi, the focus is on collective responsibility. He stressed the importance of every player stepping up and being more composed in crucial moments.
"The first thing is for every player to step up, to be more calm when we get into those situations, to take better decisions, to make more movements to support the play," he said.
Although the coach acknowledged that a striker could potentially add value, he was adamant that a new signing would not be a cure-all for the club's attacking inefficiencies.
"It's true that the striker can give an opportunity or can give something more, but he can't solve everything," Nabi concluded.
As the transfer window approaches, Kaizer Chiefs fans will be watching closely to see if Nabi sticks to his stance or if changes to the squad are made to address the team's scoring difficulties.
