In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma from his base in Tanzania, Mbatha, who is well-acquainted with both Komphela and the dynamics of Simba, praised the coach's qualifications and suitability for the position.
"Before I say much, let me just clear the air. I don't know what is happening with coach Steve (Komphela). Whether Simba SC are interested in him or not, that is not for me to say. But coming to your question, I know coach Steve can be a perfect fit for Simba. He can he be a perfect fit for Tanzanian football. He has great workmanship which can help improve the game at Simba and Tanzania as a whole. He has vast experience having played in Europe himself and he knows how to handle players very well," Mbatha told the Siya crew.
Mbatha described Komphela as more than just a coach, highlighting his multifaceted role as a mentor, teacher, and motivator.
"He is more than just a coach. He is a father, a teacher and a motivator who can help forge Tanzanian football ahead. So, yeah, I think he could make it in Tanzania," the former Orlando Pirates administrative manager observed.

Reflecting on Komphela's tenure at Mamelodi Sundowns, where he served as a senior coach, Mbatha noted his significant impact on the club's success.
"Everywhere he goes you can see his impact. Even at Sundowns when he was the senior coach his services were very important to them and it contributed to the success during the time when he was there. So, if he can be appointed as Simba coach, he can do well. He is a very good tactician which he has shown in the years he has been coaching and it's an important factor in a coach," Mbatha told Soccer Laduma.
