Sekhukhune United and Bafana Bafana midfielder Elias Mokwana's name has made it into the wish-list of Kaizer Chiefs as part of their plans for next season, as confirmed by close sources.
Mokwana has been one of the players to watch in the DStv Premiership since making his top-flight debut last season for Sekhukhune with eye-catching performances as he went on to finish the campaign with a staggering 29 appearances in all domestic competitions.
The winger's high work-rate earned him several admirers, with the Big Three understood to have been following his progress with interest.
This past season, the 24-year-old amassed 35 appearances across all competitions, including six in the CAF Confederation Cup, to finish the campaign as one of the most talked-about players in Mzansi football.
Mokwana was recently in camp with Bafana Bafana as part of coach Hugo Broos' squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
While the winger and his camp have prioritised an overseas move for his next deal, Chiefs could be set to make a formal offer for his services.
"Elias Mokwana remains a target for Kaizer Chiefs, and nothing has changed now that the season has ended. He is one of the players that Chiefs are likely to go for in planning for next season al- though the club's situation is a little bit complicated for now because of their coaching situation. Any potential deal will depend on Sekhukhune as the player is contracted to them, although he is also having his sights on making an overseas move," said a source.
