What's the story?

Last month, it was announced that Argentine would be leaving the club at the end of the season, marking a highly successful career as one of the most lethal strikers in Premier League history.

Aguero would be leaving England as the highest-scoring foreign player in the league, while also being the club's all-time leading goal scorer.

As far as trophies are concerned, Aguero managed five league cup titles, one FA Cup and is currently on course to win his fourth Premier League title this season.

Sike! April Fools…

In a social media post that caught everyone's attention, Cape Town City took to their Twitter account in announcing that they had signed Aguero by saying, "Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of striker Sergio Aguero.

The forward signs a pre-contract with the Citizens and joins from English Premier League side Manchester City."

However, fans quickly caught on with what has been transpiring all over social media with it being a sly April Fools prank.

With that said, if the Cape Town-based club were to sign the prolific goalscorer, they would have to upgrade their medical facilities given his injury track record in recent years!
